This tutorial was written for those with a working knowledge of PSP

Supplies
Two opposite tubes of choice, I used the beautiful art of Zindy Nielsen,
to purchase a license to use Zindy's work you need to go here My PSP Tubes
Preset shape - Yin and Yang, if you do not already have this you can download it from GFX Sally Here
Font of choice, I used Chow Mein
Mask of choice, I used one from Monti's Pixel Playground, which you can download from Here
Optional Plug in - Eyecandy 4000, gradient glow

Let's Begin

Open your supplies, place your Yin and Yang preset shape in your PSP - preset shapes folder
Open a 500x500 new image, floodfill white, layer, new raster layer, floodfill black
Load/save mask, load mask from disk and find your mask, invert selected and press load, layers, merge group
move mask layer up a bit so it is sitting up towards the top of your canvas as below

Select your preset shape tool and find your Yin and Yang symbol
Foreground black, background nil, line width 3, now draw out your shape making sure you can see the edges of the mask underneath it,
once you are happy with the vertical alignment, go to Objects, align, and select horizontal centre
Layers, convert to raster layer

Now with your magic wand, select inside one side of your preset shape, I chose the left hand side, selections, modify, expand by 2 and press ok
layers, new raster layer, and flood fill your selection black, selections, select none, now drag this layer under your shape layer
(you may need to select your paintbrush and fill in the little tip at the top where the floodfill didn't fill in)
Using your magic wand again, select the other side of your preset shape, for me this was the right hand side and repeat the above step, but this time flood fill white
Selections, select none. Now with your magic wand again, select inside the little circle on the white side of your shape
Selections, modify, expand by 6, layer, new raster layer, and flood fill this with black, selections, select none, drag this layer under your preset shape
Repeat these steps for the small circle on the black side of your shape, this time flood filling white
Select your preset shape layer and add a drop shadow of choice, I used 0,0,100,5 and applied it twice
You should now have this

'x' out your preset shape layer, mask layer and blank background, merge visible so your layers pallette will now look like this

Now to add your tubes
With your magic wand, on your preset shape layer, select inside the half that has been flood filled black, selections, modify, expand by 2
Open the dark tube you have chosen to use, 'x' out all layers except the tube layer, image flip, image mirror, and resize enough so that your tubes face will fit into
your preset shape. Copy and paste as a new layer, and position your tube to your liking. If you are using the same tubes as me, do not worry if the tube edge of
the tube is showing, we will tidy this up later, once you are happy with the position of your tube, go to selections, invert, delete, select none, and drag your tube
under the preset shape layer
Magic wand again, on the preset shape layer, select the white half of your shape, selections invert, this time I inverted by 5
Open the tube you have chosen for this half, resize to fit as before, and copy and paste as a new layer, position to your liking
go to selections, invert and hit delete. Again, move this layer under your preset shape layer

Now to blend out tubes in

Select your dark tube, go to layers, properties and select your 'Blend Ranges' tab
slide the top ranges bar tabs over as below, or until you're happy with the blending, and press ok

Image

Select your light tube, go to layers, properties and select your 'Blend Ranges' tab again
This time slide the top ranges bar tab to the setting below, or until you are happy with this blending, and press ok

Image

I then selected my eraser tool and chose my 'Fuzz Soft' brush, size 25, and lightly erased some of the edges
that needed blending a bit more on both tube layers

Select your preset shapes tool again, and using your ellipse shape, draw out a circle slightly larger than your preset shape
Do not convert to raster
Now we will add your phrase, I chose - 'Yin & Yang, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction'
Select your text tool
Font I used was 'Chow Mein' foreground nil background black
Hover over your preset shape until you get the A with the half circle come up and left click your mouse
Now write your saying around your circle, you may have to play with this a bit until you are happy with the size/ position etc, then click ok

Do not convert to raster, on your layers pallete, select the '+' on your text layer, you will now see your ellipse layer separate to the text
'x' out the ellipse layer and convert your text to a raster layer and give a slight drop shadow of choice

Add your copyright, watermark and name

For my name I used the same font as above, foreground black stroke 1, background white
Then I gave an inner bevel as below

Image

I then gave it a gradient glow with the below settings, colour black

Save as a jpeg and your done!

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and I would love to see your results
Any resemblance to another tutorial is totally coincidental and unintentional
